Found something crawling? Find out what it is.
Take a photo of an insect, spider or other small crawling creature. bimsy tells you what it is, how much risk it carries, and what to know about it.
What it does
Identify from one photo
Point, shoot, and get a name — down to the species when the photo shows enough, or to the family or order when it doesn't. bimsy never invents a name it can't support.
A clear risk level
Every answer carries one of four levels, and the specific risks behind it — bites, stings, venom, allergies, risks to pets and more.
Sightings, on your phone
Keep the scans you want to remember. They stay on your iPhone, and you can delete them any time.
A field guide that works offline
Browse common groups of small creatures without scanning anything, even without a connection.
Honest about what it doesn't know
- Low
- Moderate
- High
- Unknown
When a photo doesn't show enough to judge, bimsy says unknown instead of guessing. It never tells you that a creature is safe: a risk it doesn't mention is a risk it isn't presenting, not one it has ruled out.
Private by design
- No account and no sign-in.
- Your photos and Sightings are saved only on your iPhone.
- A photo is sent off the device only to identify it, and our servers keep none of it. The details are in the privacy policy.
Pricing
Your first five scans are free. After that, Bimsy Pro unlocks unlimited scanning, weekly or yearly, billed through the App Store and cancellable any time in your Apple ID settings.
bimsy gives information, not a guarantee. If someone has been bitten or stung and feels unwell, contact a medical professional or your local emergency number.
